Thanksgiving Thoughts

Turkey’s roasting

Guests are coming

Pies are cooling

Tables decorated

Stuffing mounded high

Excited voices greeting

Favorite foods all are ready

Friends and family gather round

Thoughts of pilgrims

So long ago

Seeking freedom

Worshipping God in their own way

Journeying far from home

In a new land they made their home

Because of their courage

We have our freedom today

With their sacrifices

They planted seeds

For all the coming generations

As we celebrate this day

Let us not forget

To thank our heavenly Father

For His provision and tender care

Stop a moment and pray

Sending grateful thoughts heavenward

Never forgetting that it is God

Who gave you all you have.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
